Elswick Grove

First planted to Gewürztraminer in 1973 by Robert B. Bagnall, Elswick Grove is a beautifully situated site 25 feet above the Navarro River.  Elswick Grove ends near our family home on the west end, bordering 1st growth Redwood groves.  This block is planted to the Pommard clone on Rootsock 3309, and is considered to be one of the coldest growing sites in the Deep End area of Anderson Valley.  Soils include Loam, Sand & Silt with a cane pruned trellis system resulting in approximately 2.5 tons per acre on average.

Elswick Rise

Elswick Rise is a poetically situated 4-acre site oriented East to West across a rocky bench below Elswick Summit.  Soils on these terraced narrows are gritty with gravel and shale, providing the perfect amount of adversity for the Pommard clones on 3309 Rootsock with vertical shoot positioning. Elevation for this hillside bench ranges from 150 to 220 feet.

Elswick Summit

Planted down Northeast facing slopes surrounded by Redwood trees on two sides, Elswick Summit is an extraordinary 4 acre block planted to Dijon 114 & Dijon 115 Clones on 3309 Rootstock. Yields are limited per acre with steep grades of 12% to 20%, at elevations of 280 to 320 feet. Composed of shale and loam soils, the Elswick Summit vineyard uses vertical shoot positioning for trellising.
